WHERE TO FIND US: The Cottage is situated in Thula Street and forms part of our SOHO complex. On Google Maps the location is here: Please also refer to the map on this page.
ARRIVAL & CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT TIMES: Check-in time is scheduled from 4pm. Early check in is only possible if the Cottage does not require cleaning from a same-day departure. Please WhatsApp or call our Guest Services on the morning of your arrival to inquire if the Cottage is ready earlier. Check-out time is 11am on your departure day.
KEY COLLECTION: We use a convenient self-check-in system. All our safety boxes are mounted on the left-hand wall of the parking area of our Thula Street Cottages - use this link. Your unique safe code will be sent to you separately via WhatsApp. Please leave your keys inside the same lockbox when you depart. Scramble the code dials after closing it.
KEYRING: On your keyring you will find:

a universal standard key used to manually lock and unlock the main pedestrian gate and the side Vine pedestrian gate;

key of your Cottage door;
-
the Cottage alarm remote, used only for the alarm system at your Cottage door; and
-
the parking beam remote, used only for the security beams in the parking area.
ENTRY TO THE PREMISES AND THE COTTAGE: Use the universal gate key to unlock the main pedestrian gate. For your safety, the alarm of the Cottage will be activated when you arrive – please look for the bright blue light outside at the top of the front glass door which indicates that the alarm is activated. When pressing the remote once, the blue light switching off signals a deactivation (and when the light is on, it means it is activated). Please ensure that the alarm is deactivated before you open the door, otherwise it will trigger the alarm and the armed response service (as well as a very loud alarming sound on the premises).
PARKING: We offer two choices of parking:

under-cover, dedicated parking bays at Thula Street; or
-
if the main area is full or feels tight, extra secure parking is available behind the SOHO Life building. Access to the Cottages is then via a back gate. Please contact Guest Services if you need to arrange access/directions for this option.
SECURITY CONSIDERATIONS: Our parking area is protected by security beams to ensure our guests’ vehicles remain safe. These beams will be activated which is also signaled by a bright blue light on the left of the parking roof. Please use the large black remote with the red button to disarm these beams (the blue light will turn off). This will allow you to park your vehicle (the beams will automatically re-arm, signaled by the light turning blue again). When leaving the parking area (by foot or car), please remember to also disarm the system. During night-time if the beams are breached, an alarm will sound, and the armed response will automatically be notified.
Please remove all items from your vehicle and ensure your vehicle is securely locked. We are mindful that there are persons inclined to mischief who would use any opportunity to pinch items, such as small change, sunglasses, clothing, laptops, cell phones/chargers and other valuable items left visible inside vehicles, and therefore we request that all guests assist in reducing these risks. If you see anything concerning, call the Hitech Control Room directly on +27 13 752 4470. State your location as "Tarry-Stone Cottages" and your specific Cottage name for identification.
WI-FI ACCESS: Our Wi-Fi password for the SOHO | Dullstroom network is Soho@Dullies. Dullstroom relies on cellular networks for connectivity, which can be variable. To ensure fair usage for all guests, high-bandwidth streaming services (like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, etc.) are throttled during specific times. We appreciate your understanding.
GAS AND FIREPLACE SAFETY: All our Cottages are equipped with smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. However, for your own safety please ensure that windows are opened and all Cottages are properly ventilated during your stay.
SELF-CATERING: Your Cottage is self-catering. We provide fresh linen, towels, and a starter pack of essentials (tea, coffee, sugar, toilet paper). For meals or additional supplies, you have great options right here - Baker Boys Coffee Café (breakfast/lunch), OnseMense Deli (BBQ supplies & any additional firewood needed), and the award-winning Vine Restaurant (lunch/dinner). Please check their current trading hours.
GUEST SERVICES: We offer a Guest Service number between 8am and 9pm to make sure you have everything you need. This number will be sent to you separately via WhatsApp. During these hours, if you have any questions or concerns about the Cottage, you can reach out to us through either phone call or WhatsApp. Just keep in mind that during busy times, there might be a slight delay in a response.
ELECTRICITY USAGE: To prevent an overload on our electric system, all our Cottages are equipped with load sensors. If heaters and electric blankets are used excessively in your Cottage, certain electric systems in the Cottage will automatically switch off to prevent an overload. Please stay conscious of the use of appliances, as it may result in electricity disconnections or affecting your hot water supply.
POWER OUTAGES: Vine Restaurant & Wine Bar and SOHO Life use a generator which, depending on their usage, may provide power to our Thula Street Cottages during outages. Generator power is unfortunately not guaranteed, and guests are advised to please check outage schedules and plan accordingly. PLEASE NOTE THAT DURING PROLONGED OUTAGES HOT WATER MAY BE AFFECTED.
WATER: We provide our own, fresh borehole water. The water may from time to time have a slight discoloring, but it is perfectly safe for consumption. During power outages the water pressure to the Cottage may be affected.​
FIREPLACES: We remind you that when a fire is made in a combustion fireplace, the entire unit heats up. Please ensure that no items (especially holders or gloves) are placed on top or close to these units, as it will burn and cause a fire hazard. COMBUSTION FIREPLACES REQUIRE SMALL FIRES TO GENERATE HEAT – “overfiring” causes damage to the unit.​
SERVICING OF COTTAGE: Our staff is mandated to clean the Cottage daily, and we would be grateful if you could allow them the opportunity to perform their duties. On check-out we provide a safe online credit card payment link for gratuities, which is at each guest’s discretion.​
LINEN AND TOWELS: We take pride to offer linen and towels that are of the highest quality. We request that guests do not use towels to clean shoes or floors, and especially do not use towels to remove any make-up or cosmetics. Dedicated make-up remover pads are supplied.​
DAMAGE TO PROPERTY: We understand that accidents happen from time to time. To ensure that we maintain the standard of our Cottages, we appreciate that you report any item that is damaged to SOHO Guest Services before check-out.​
DEPARTURE: Upon your departure, please leave the key in the same safe where collected, using the same code as was provided to you for your check-in.

ACCESS GATES: All our access gates are locked with a universal key. For safety purposes, please ensure that you lock the gates behind you when entering or leaving the premises (as they do not have an automatic locking system).
VINE RESERVATIONS: ​Vine Restaurant & Wine Bar and SOHO Life are accessible via the side pathways using the universal key. For bookings at Vine, please contact them directly on +27 82 736 3814 (BOOKINGS ARE ESSENTIAL)
BAKER BOYS: For breakfasts we include the menu for Baker Boys Coffee Café, which is situated at SOHO Life.
